Identify the actual report
Ask the lender which business reporting source or data was used when possible. Business files can differ by provider, and the consumer-report process does not automatically apply in the same way.
Obtain the provider’s current report and correction instructions.
Verify company identity first
Check legal name, trade names, address, industry classification, ownership, registration identifiers, and duplicate profiles. A mixed or duplicate business identity can make account-level review unreliable.
Preserve formation and registration records that support corrections.
Document account-level discrepancies
For each trade or filing, record the reported fact, what you believe is correct, and the supporting invoice, statement, release, or creditor correspondence. Contact the source and reporting provider through official channels.
Do not purchase a fabricated trade line or submit false records.
Keep personal and business repair paths distinct
A business-profile issue and a consumer-report issue may require different processes. Route each genuine error to the organization maintaining that file, then keep confirmation and updated copies.
